AUGUST  2018  MISSION  TRIP

MISSION STATEMENT: IT'S NOT THE CHURCH'S BUSINESS IN THIS WORLD TO SIMPLY MAKE PRESENT CONDITIONS MORE BEARABLE, THE TASK OF THE CHURCH IS TO RELEASE HERE ON EARTH THE REDEMPTIVE WORK OF GOD IN CHRIST!

MISSION OBJECTIVE: TO TRANSFORM LIVES BY SHARING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST...REDEMPTION AND SALVATION ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL HIS CHILDREN.

Time has finally arrived for another mission trip to UGANDA!  The team is made up of six members that are all excited and ready for another powerful life changing trip. The six member team includes from left to right Hannah Harrison, Kevan Horton, Carmen Claypool, Sarah Claypool, Kelly Phillips, Pastor Mike Phillips & Pastor Stanley Phillips, who wasn't able to make it this time but did drive them to airport and supported and helped in the planning. Please keep the team in your prayers as they work to help in Uganda through the love of Christ.
Their first day in Uganda they spent the day in the village of Mbale. They got to meet all the children, the workers, and Pastor Fred which was a blessing especially for the team members who got to see the child/children they sponsor, some for the first time meeting them!  One of the team members, Kelly Phillips, stated, "We had a wonderful visit with the children in Mbale today. I have never been so blessed before in my whole life. They fed us a delicious lunch and we had a great women's bible study."

The following  is Sarah Claypool's inspiring description of the second day events, 8/14/18, in Mbale as pastor Fred lead them on a trip to the mountains of Uganda.

Today, we were able to take a very bumpy ride to the top of Mount Elgon and on the way we visited and fellowshipped with almost 20 pastors. We went into their churches and homes, ate, sang, and prayed. From start to finish our day was a beautiful reminder of God’s love and mercy. We visited with hundreds of children and Pastor Mike and Pastor Fred even led the children in The Lord’s prayer right on top of the mountain. It was an incredible experience! After seeing the breathtaking views at the top of Mount Elgon we traveled a little further to see an amazing waterfall. We saw coffee trees, bananas, sugar cane, cabbage, corn and so many other crops. The Lord is truly blessed Uganda and we were so blessed to experience this wonderful day first hand. I don’t think any of us will ever forget it! We ended the evening with dinner at Pastor Fred and his wife’s home. Dinner was delicious and we all loved everything, but especially Olive’s homemade “pancakes” and fresh squeezed, mixed fruit juice. Afterwards, we listened to Fred and Olive’s children recite their memory verses for us and finally, we ended the evening at a local “best buy” (grocery store) with some Ugandan ice cream!

The team met with and gave  some financial help to the pastors  serving at churches in the mountains. This was a memorable experience for us all.

What awesome beauty! Our God has to be an Awesome God, just look at His creation! Man it sounds like this experience, going up in the mountains with Pastor Fred and the children, could not have been any better!

BUDIBA
Here is what Pastor Mike shared about some of what was done in Budiba....We had a great day in Budiba yesterday. We bought Malaria and worm medicine, vitamin C and some other meds needed there.  Mike is a Nurse in Budiba so we were able to purchase what was needed. Over 300 children were checked  by and treated thanks to Mike and Sarah Claypool an RN with WOTTM's team.
The team taught three different Bible Classes and then the children were given  personal tote bags and they put  their  names on them.   Words of Truth Teaching Ministries, Inc., Mission Team also bought and gave to  the church in Budiba ten (10) goats.  and then  we spent the rest of the day playing. I did go to the road and gave out the rest of the Vitamn C and some food we had. Lots of them have swollen stomachs from malnutrition.
On our way back to Jinja, we stopped  and gave a live chicken  to a family. It had been given to Hannah Harrison, one of the team members, and we could not get it on the plane as a comfort chicken!

BELOW ARE SOME PICTURES AND A VIDEO TAKEN IN BUDIBA.

Not unusual to see this, a young child carrying around a baby or very young child.
